getting spoiled at an all inclusive resort |
The Finest is great. People are wonderful, very anxious to please. Food everywhere is wonderful. I had lamb chops at the steakhouse for dinner last night, just so delicious. A few showers this morning, but that's ok. I'm a bit pink so I can use a day away from the beach. The entertainers are unbelievably professional. It seems to be a very good place for families. Lots for kids to do age 3 and up. Kids babysitters in costumes and we watched a kids in costume parade on the beach…….. Can you guess that we don't want to leave this place? Everyone from the hallway floor sweepers to the Executive Chef has just bent over backwards to ensure that we are well taken care of. Every request granted, we are like spoiled rotten kids. Belonging to the Finest Club was well worth it so you don't have to rush to the beach to get a good palapa. After the first day, the beach boys know what you like and make every effort to please you. Drinks are served frequently and if we didn't have to get up to use the restroom every couple of hours we wouldn't move anywhere all day. The food has been superb but I think I already said that. Last day is tomorrow and we would certainly come back. Thanks for guiding us to this place. You deserve a "freebie"! |
private island honeymoon in belize |
I just wanted to let you know we have returned home (sadly!!) and had a most amazing honeymoon! The weather was perfect 99% of time! The first resort was awesome and we went on some great excursions including the ruins, cave tubing and snorkeling! We would definitely recommend it! But Cayo Espanto topped it all! Everything was incredible and the food (and there was a lot of it!!) was seriously amazing! We couldn't have been happier with the hospitality! I literally cried when we left! It was a dream honeymoon! Thank you for all your help and guidance- we couldn't have been happier with our trip...... Belize is a wonderful place!! |
Mother and daughter travel south africa |
We had a great time! I could have kept going! South Africa was so beautiful! I think we were both surprised at the mountainous terrain, the winding roads in places. We were surprised at all of the poverty, too. We liked the locations of the hotels and location of the rooms in each hotel--looking out at Table Mountain in Cape Town, across from the beach in Port Elizabeth. The loveliest place was La Plume, the B & B on an ostrich farm. We especially liked our guide for the Garden Route. He took us places we never would have found on our own, knew many of the people at each stop and was such a nice person. The two game drives at Pilanesberg were fantastic and we enjoyed having dinner in the bush! Internet service wasn't great in most of the hotels, but we managed. All in all, a fantastic trip! Pictures don't do justice to the beauty! |
Escorted tour of the emerald isle |
We would like to thank you for suggesting to us the Shades of Ireland tour. As our introduction to Ireland, and to all of Europe, we were so pleased with our experience. We loved all of the cities we visited. Our tour guide provided us with much Irish history, and also great suggestions for our leisure time. We have so many happy memories from this wonderful trip. Thank you! |
12 night mediterranean cruise |
We had a great time. Everything went very smoothly. Our flights were on time and our drivers were actually a little early which was really appreciated. Our accommodations in Barcelona were even better than we expected. The breakfasts were fabulous, with so many options to choose from. The dining room also very nice and the staff were helpful. We had the best weather imaginable. Every day sunny and mild. Out tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. Our only disappointment was in Rome because we arrived on a Sunday we were unable to go into the Sistine Chapel. The lines to get into St. Peter's Basilica were quite long and our guide didn't think we had time to go inside. It's impossible to see everything. We did see and do so much. Maybe some day we can go back. Thank you for all you did we really appreciated all the effort that goes into planning a vacation like this. We look forward to working with you again in the future. |
Rome and the Amalfi Coast |
I can’t thank, nor compliment, you enough for quarterbacking our Italy Trip. We return with so many emotions, memories and experiences that words just can’t capture the experience. Suffice it to say it was the best trip we have ever taken, and one that will live on for years in our family’s memories. Everything was perfect…transportation, hotels, tours, and of course Tony were perfect. |
Celebrating the gift of life in Kauai |
The trip was everything we hoped it would be and more. I can’t thank you enough all your help and hard work. Everything was smooth and my mother had an incredible time. We were all able to make lasting memories and we feel so blessed to have been able to even take a trip like this. And the distance traveled was 100% worth it- Kauai is truly the most magical and beautiful place any of us have ever traveled to. Perfect weather, warm clear water, whales, turtles, dolphins, rainbows, delicious food, breathtaking scenery and plant life... It instantly soothed our stress and put smiles on our faces. We felt rejuvenated, inspired and joyous, which we haven't felt in way too long. |
Walt Disney World with the new Magic Bands |
The trip was great and the Magic Bands worked phenomenally! It was so cool to be able to have all your keys, tickets, money, etc. on your wrist. It made it so convenient. Coupled with the My Disney Experience App - everything was awesome. Thanks for reaching out. Cheers! |
A mother and daughter’s Greek adventure |
My trip was amazing! All of your bookings went like clockwork. The transports were all waiting for us when we arrived in the airport, hotels, and ferries. They were all really nice and very helpful. For example, the transport from Electra Palace to the ferry port arrived on time and drove us to the ferry. However, we were there early- they were not open. The driver was quite nice and waited with us in the van until they opened instead of just dropping us off (it was still dark out). All of the hotels were wonderful as well! All three of the hotel’s breakfasts were extensive and delicious! The Adronikos Hotel in Mykonos had upgraded us to a suite with pool and ocean view before we arrived. When you arrive they take you on a tour of the hotel and you end at the pool with a welcome drink! (They actually gave us 2 welcome drinks each). They arranged for us to rent a car for the next day to drive around the island as well. Our tour of Delphi and Meteora was also wonderful. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and fun and the sights were beautiful! The same was true of the volcano/hot springs/sunset tour on Santorini! I’m really glad we chose to do the whole tour. So anyway, it was a trip of a lifetime and I really couldn’t have done it without your help! I’m recommending you to all of my friends and plan to give you a call when I travel in the future. |
Short but sweet trip to Mexico |
I just wanted to thank you so much for helping us with the wonderful trip to Mexico. It was short but oh so sweet! The resort was beautiful. The grounds were so lush and everything was very clean. The food was very good, and the service excellent. Our only "complaints" if you could even call it that, was that the beach wasn’t closer to the pool, and the people that walked around trying to sell you things at the resort got annoying after a while. We never had that at the Excellence. But really I can't complain - it was just wonderful. I will say you were right tho, and once you stay at the Excellence you are spoiled. We want to go back there next year - thinking June. Could be a wedding there too! Keep you posted on that. We want you to help us with all of it. You were wonderful. |
A long weekend in Reykjavik, Iceland |
I just wanted to let you know that Iceland was awesome! We had such a blast. The Hilton was a really good hotel pick – they had a mini fridge and gave us a free bus pass. It’s a little bit outside of the “downtown” area of the city but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel so we had no problems. The food there was very expensive so having a mini fridge was ideal b/c we were able to grab food at the grocery store to save money. I would recommend the Hilton to anyone going to Reykjavik. Also the tours were great! They had everything down with the timing and all the people were very nice and knowledgeable. The bus system is extremely easy to navigate so we were able to go all around the city using our free bus pass. Thanks again for planning this amazing vacation! |
Exploring Switzerland with a Loved One |
The trip was great. Your selection of hotels could not have been better: charming and convenient. The train connections worked out to perfection. We had a wonderful time: e-biking, hiking, museuming, exploring and over-eating. Thanks so much for all your great work. |
Jamaica Destination Wedding and Hawaiian Honeymoon |
I just wanted to write you some feedback about our wedding and honeymoon. All I can say is THANK YOU! You were so wonderful with our plans and any change that we had, you did. I know that planning a destination wedding and honeymoon can be stressful, but you made things happen with a lot less stress to me. My family and friends who contacted you had nothing but great things to say. We had such a wonderful time in Jamaica and Hawaii and there is no way that I could have ever planned it better by myself. You are such a wonderful person to work with and we will be using you again in the future (it should be less complicated this time). We definitely will be booking through you again. Thank you again for everything. You are a very unique travel agent in my eyes. |
Quick getaway to San Juan |
I just wanted to write to say how much we enjoyed San Juan. The weather turned out to be PERFECT, not too hot or humid. The hotel was fabulous and the people could not have been nicer all the way around. We had a wonderful time! Thank you so much for your hard work and diligence on this trip. We definitely benefited from your efforts! |
Celebrating wife’s 40th birthday in the Keys |
I just wanted to thank you for your hard work, patience, and excellent customer service. When my wife turned 40, we wanted some special time together. You listened and learned about our likes and interests and the put together a fabulous itinerary for the Everglades and FL keys. Your choices were great including the flights, etc. I really appreciated how you called me after 5 pm on a snowy night before the trip to touch base and gave us your cell # in case of delays. Please keep up the great work and feel free to post this review so future travelers can know how great you are. |
Wethersfield Travel and travel insurance on your side |
Our trip became complicated because of an illness in our family. Melissa was extremely helpful and helped us work out a plan that allowed us to go on our trip and meet our responsibilities at home. It was a very stressful time for us and if we didn't have Melissa doing the legwork on the trip for us we would have cancelled and missed the wedding of two very dear friends. I can't say enough how grateful we are for her help and understanding. We will continue to use her for our travel arrangements and recommend her to our friends & family. |
Bringing home local son after surviving Japan’s earthquake/tsunami |
Hi Melissa, I am so impressed and grateful for this email. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help. You were not only very helpful and professional but amazingly quick with getting back to me. In a time like this when I cannot see clearly and am exhausted from lack of sleep and worry it is nice to know that I can count on you and Wethersfield Travel. You came highly recommended and I can see why; I will definitely tell others about you and hopefully send new business your way. Thanks again Kim |
Greg and Katie’s honeymoon to Aruba’s Bucuti Beach Resort |
Hey Melissa.....The trip was FANTASTIC! Bucuti was the perfect place for a honeymoon. All the people staying at the resort (small, I think 55 rooms and 45 suites) were either honeymooners or there on their anniversary, and this made the setting very romantic. Only couples, and NO kids! The location of the resort was perfect. Not only was it out of the high rise district, ($9 cab ride away) but it was really close to the beach. Step out of your room if you’re on the first floor, and you’re at your seat. One of the things we noticed in the low rise section where the hotels and beach chairs were VERY far back from the water. The beach was great. Our area on Eagle beach wasn't crowded at all. People gave you your space, even swimming in the water. This high rise area was where people were crammed together, and loud noises of water sports. The private transfers to and from the airport went flawlessly. Never through we'd get off a plane and have someone standing there with a sign! When we checked in to Bucuti, there were 3-4 other couples checking in so there was a bit of a wait, but the staff there handed out champagne, and made sure it never went empty. Our room, Rm. 328 in the Tara Wing, was immaculate. Nicely updated. Great mini bar area with fridge, sink and microwave, and a lounge area with a couple chairs and a couch. The dehumidifier they have there runs almost all day/night and is kind of loud, but they have sliding doors that can be closed to cut off your bedroom from the other part of the room, so that was nice. The staff there was the friendliest we have seen in a longgggg time. You cannot walk past one of them without getting a big smile and a big hello. If we needed something like reservations for dinner or wanted to plan a day to do something, the concierge's desk was more than willing to help us out with anything. We just told them what we wanted to do, and a couple minutes later there was a phone call to our room, or a piece of paper slid under our door telling us the plans were confirmed. Also, housekeeping was fantastic. They would come every morning around 10am, and tidy up the room. If you wanted to be left alone, we just hit a button that said privacy. If we would leave in the afternoon and it was wasn't during the normal housekeeping hours, we would hit a button that said "makeup room", and when we got back the room was done! They would also come sometime during the night, turn down the bed, and make sure the room wasn't too messy for our return. Breakfast was served every morning. Inside in air conditioning from 7-10, and outside on the beach at the Pirates Nest Restaurant from 7-11. It was a full American buffet breakfast, with omelet stations and specials for the morning. And the food was excellent! We never ate dinner at the Pirates Nest,(except for our wonderful dinner on the beach) but we did grab some lunch a couple days when we were sitting on the beach. That food was very good as well, and very nicely priced. Their lunch menu consisted of everything from quesadillas ($8) and signature burgers ($10) to salads ($7) and wraps ($8). The beach bar was also great. Every time we went up to get a drink, we were served in a timely manner. Drinks were expensive of course, ranging from $7-$10 for mixed drinks, but happy hour from 4-6 and then 9-10 was two for one. The bar got kinda crowded during these hours, but not too bad. People would come by from the resorts next door, and that didn't help, but it was never a long wait for a drink. The system they have for getting drinks on the beach by putting up a red flag and a waiter would come and take your order was VERY slow. Maybe 20-30 minutes. I think they only had one or two waiters for the whole entire beach area. It was much easier to just get up and walk to the bar. The whole resort is cashless, so you could give them a credit card, or have them charge it to your room. That was nice because all you had to bring to the beach with you was your room key. There were cabs waiting outside the resort at all hours of the night, so all we had to do was walk outside and they were there to open the door for you and take you anywhere. We ate out almost every night, and we don't have one complaint about any of the restaurants we went to. Our best meal we agreed was our last night at Madame Jeanette. Awesome menu, and great food. Other places we went to and would recommend are Driftwood, El Gaucho steakhouse, Texas de Brazil, and La Vista at the Marriott. There were so many to choose from and so little time!! All in all, the trip was great. Zero complaints about Aruba, or our resort. I would definitely recommend Bucuti to honeymooners and for anniversaries. If someone is looking to go on vacation with a group of people, or sit on the beach with loud music and lots of people, then Bucuti isn't for them!! It was nice and quiet all the time, and just a great place to relax/ take a walk down the beautiful beach. Thank you for being a great travel agent!! You helped us put together an unforgettable honeymoon, one that we'll never forget. Nothing could of gone smoother! Yes there was a mix-up with De Palm, but it wasn't on your part and you could do nothing about it. Oh well!! I guess that give us a good reason to go back!!! Thank you again, and we'll be sure to recommend you and Wethersfield Travel to anyone else who we hear is going to travel! Greg and Katie |
Susan and Larry’s honeymoon to Greece |
Melissa did a great job planning our honeymoon! She incorporated everything we asked for. Price was very reasonable - flight was expensive but that was because of the time of year/economy. I searched flights on my own and what we ended up paying was in line with what was out there. We didn't have to worry about a thing on vacation it was very relaxing. She gave us all the paperwork we needed and everything was pre-arranged for us. This was the best vacation we have ever been on!! |
Cruise tour to Alaska |
The eight days on land were a great adventure and a wonderful way to really get the flavor of Alaska and the Yukon. Cruise was a great way to end the trip. Definitely would recommend doing the land portion first - it is busy and tiring. It's worth every penny and comforting to have the backing of Wethersfield Travel if any glitches occur. It takes so much hassle off our hands. Thank you Michele. |
